STAR TREK: DISCOVERY Casts Klingons, ADVENTURE TIME Miniseries, and More TV News

We might be cruising towards the end of the year and a holiday break, but that doesn’t mean television news is slowing down. Today’s TV-Cap has an update on some Star Trek: Discovery casting, some details on what we’ll see in season two of Westworld, a warm and fuzzy Christmas message from Tom Baker, and more.

Cast Discovered. Star Trek: Discovery has discovered some new cast members. They’ve chosen three actors who will play Klingons in the upcoming series. Chris Obi will play T’Kuvma, Shazad Latif will portray Kol, and Mary Chieffo will take on the role of L’Rell. You can get more info here at Nerdist.

See What Was Lost. The Happy Endings cast got together at the EW PopFest and read-through a never before heard/seen script dubbed a “lost episode.” Entertainment Weekly has shared a video of the read-through, so you can enjoy it if you didn’t manage to catch it in person. [Slashfilm]

Oh My Glob. Has there been an Adventure Time-sized hole in your heart since the last new episode? Then breathe easy, because the Cartoon Network series will be back in January. Adventure Time: Islands is an eight-part miniseries kicking off on January 30. It’s all about Finn the Human’s mysterious past, addressing where the heck all the other humans are and what happened to them. If you can’t wait until January 30, you can get Islands on January 24 on video on demand and DVD. [Image: Cartoon Network]

Be Our Guest. I often wonder about the guest logistics of Westworld. What are the costs? How are meals handled? Are there different tiers? Some of those questions will be addressed in season two of Westworld. Series co-creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy Nolan talked to TVLine about how they mostly handled that stuff in the writers’ room for season one, because the focus was on the hosts. But Nolan said Westworld “will spend a little bit more time next season shining a light on those aspects of the park — what does it feel like to come to it as a guest? — just a little bit before the mayhem starts.” [TVLine]

New Sight. Netflix has an original series arriving this Friday, December 16. Surprise! The OA, co-created by and starring Brit Marling, has a new trailer that shows off the world and concept. Marling’s character was blind and missing for years but returned with sight and a lack of memories. Will you be watching The OA? [IGN]

Going Deep. Have questions about how The Walking Dead wrapped the first half of season seven? I can’t promise answers, but Variety has an interview with series executive producer Gale Anne Hurd breaking down all the big events. Read it here.

Meet the Queen. Legends of Tomorrow is hopping the timeline to Camelot, and thanks to a Twitter post from Caity Lotz, we know who will be playing Queen Guinevere. Elyse Levesque will step into the role. [CBR]

Reunions. Girl Meets World fans, season three of the series has a finale date. It will take a bow on January 20, and the writers are calling the next few installments “three of our best episodes.” And hey, both Morgans will appear in the finale. The episode’s called “Girl Meets Goodbye,” and as we haven’t heard anything about a fourth season, it could be the end. [TVLine]

Happy Holidays! Let’s wrap today’s TV-Cap with a video that admittedly doesn’t have a lot to do with television news. It does, however, feature a television star. Tom Baker, a.k.a. the Fourth Doctor. He’s recorded a lovely video for the holidays. He’s such a delight. [Nerdist]

Did Tom Baker leave you warm and fuzzy feelings? Tell me in the comments.
