STAR TREK BEYOND Poster by Mondo Artist is the Final Frontier of Awesome (Exclusive)

STAR TREK BEYOND Poster by Mondo Artist is the Final Frontier of Awesome (Exclusive)

If you ask a certain Star Trek fan whose name is Kyle Anderson (that’s me), this summer’s Star Trek Beyond was the best and most faithful entry in the updated series of films beginning in 2009. It had all the heart, wonder, and excitement of the classic 1960s show and the subsequent six original series cast movies with updated effects and humor, highlighting the best qualities of the new cast. With the release of the film on Blu-ray and digital download Tuesday, November 1, Paramount has teamed up with Mondo for a poster to live up to the movie’s colorful goodness.

The above poster is not an official Mondo poster but was commissioned by Paramount in collaboration with Mondo and artist Matt Taylor specifically for the Blu-ray and digital release. The image features a stark and sumptuous color scheme depicting each of the film’s main characters looking ready for action, as well as the U.S.S. Enterprise screaming toward the heavens (not unlike the film’s official poster) across the face of the villain, Krall. His light side and dark side in contrast on either side of the ship. The poster also gives some love to the movie’s centerpiece action sequence, with Kirk (or many of him?) zooming around on a motorcycle to save his friends. Great work all around.

The print is not for sale — truly no wall can contain the grandeur — but is a great and beautiful way to celebrate the film that marks the 13th overall and the 50th anniversary of the franchise as a whole. The movie is available on Digital and Blu-ray November 1!
