Stan Lee’s Life Will Be Made into an Action Adventure Movie

Stan Lee will soon come to movie screens across the globe…. and I’m not just talking about his cameos in all the Marvel Studios movies either (although those are all still coming too, rest assured). No, this is something else entirely, and a little off the beaten path. According to a story in the Hollywood Reporter, Stan Lee, the co-creator of every major Marvel Comics franchise of note, will be the subject of a new film about his life in the ’60s and ’70s. Except, it won’t be a normal biopic. Far from it.

Twentieth Century Fox, the studio which has produced most of the Marvel movies after Disney due to holding the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises, has acquired Lee’s life rights, and their intention is to create a period action adventure movie featuring Lee as the protagonist. Yes, you read that right. Stan Lee is going to be an action hero.

The new film is the brainchild of Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, the producers behind Twilight, The Maze Runner and the new Power Rangers reboot, are attached to produce the film. According to the original report, the tone of the movie is supposed to echo the hit film Kingsman: The Secret Service, although another insider described it as “Roger Moore’s 007,” but with Stan Lee as the hero with an alter ego.

How much of Stan Lee’s real life will be worked into the script remains a mystery. Will we see Lee as comic writer by day, secret spy at night? And will Disney even allow the use of the Marvel characters even in passing reference in a non Marvel Studios film? (suggestion to Marvel Studios: Let Fox make mention of all those Marvel characters in exchange for the Fantastic Four movie rights. You’re welcome). This movie could be awesome or a total trainwreck…the jury is still out.

What do you think of this potential Stan Lee movie? Does it sound awesome to you, or like the goofiest idea ever? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
