Square Enix Unveils Comic-Con Exclusive “Black Metallic Batman” Figure

If you liked Square Enix’s recent DC Comics line of PLAY ARTS Kai figures, then you’re going to love their newly announced San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, a black metallic version of their The Dark Knight Rises Batman figure.

Limited to a run of 1,000 pieces, this exclusive 10″ figure will set you back $64.99 and comes with a window box display case, alternate hands, weapons, display stand and hockey pads (they don’t fit). Okay, I was lying about that last one, but can you just imagine?

Those who have a preternatural aversion to long lines can pre-order the figure at Square Enix’s newly refurbished online store while supplies last. Just take note: if you pre-order, they won’t be available for pickup at SDCC; they’ll be shipped straight to your house on July 17th, so just sit back, relax and have Alfred make you another platter of Smuckers Uncrustables (which is what I imagine Bruce Wayne eats).

I don’t know about you guys, but the brushed metal look makes Gotham’s Dark Knight look damn good. You know how when they show a hamburger on a fast food commercial with all the ingredients falling into place, the burger just looks like the tastiest thing you’ve ever seen? This is kind of how I feel about this metallic variant. Alas, if only we were billionaires like Bruce Wayne, our pre-con budgeting would be way easier. Now feast your eyes on the hand-sculpted glory of the Goddamn Batman and start thinking about which of Gotham’s many financial institutions you’ll need to knock over to come out of Comic-Con in the black.
