Square Enix Just Took STAR WARS Figures To The Next Level Of Awesome

As if Storm Troopers, Boba Fett and Darth Vader weren’t already awesome enough, Square Enix just had to go and turn the bad-ass levels to eleven with these new variant figures.

Bask in their glory. Marvel at the crisp lines in the armor and helmets, the immense detail in Boba’s cloak and Vader’s cape. Then ignore the fact that the term “Vader’s cape” sounds kind of lame and be amazed at The Force Lightning… Fireball?

Vader’s saber in motion might be our favorite part of these. Wait, scratch that, it’s Boba Fett’s dagger.

How brutal a bounty hunter do you have to be that in a world inhabited by laser-sword-wielding clergy, robots who never really seem to do anything they’re programmed to do and, lets face it, goddamned-laser-equipped-everythings that you run around with a knife. A knife.

Frankly we’d love to see Square Enix give this treatment to some other Star Wars stuff. Admiral Akbar would be absolutely fierce in this style, and Jedi would be cool too. But we’d like to see some Jawas, Tusken Raiders, and Tauntauns. Ooh! Porkins! Porkins in this style would be at the top of our need-to-have list!

Darth is currently on sale here but is sadly sold out at the moment. Boba Fett and the Storm Trooper aren’t due out until July (Hmm… Did someone say SDCC?) and each will run about a hundred dollars each so you have some time to save up.

What are your thoughts on these figures? What characters or other properties would you love to see get the Square Enix variant treatment? Let us know in the comments.
