Spongebob Squarepants Plays Walter White in “Breaking Sponge”

Every now and then we have to stop and realize we live in a wonderful time. A world where creativity has a faster turn around time than ever, where we’re able to have our silliest ideas come to fruition and be seen by an immensely large audience. YouTube allows people to broadcast the most random things from the strangest parts of our brains and entertain many.

This mash-up by YouTuber Runningflannel is no exception, as he combines Breaking Bad with Spongebob Squarepants and its…well it’s just perfect. Splicing iconic audio from a few of Walter White/Heisenberg’s more bada** moments into scenes from the Nickelodeon show, we get a mash-up that makes us sincerely worry about the safety of the residents of Bikini Bottom.

We also see Sandy the Squirrel in the role of Skylar White and Squidward really works as Tuco. That makes us wonder about a few things — logically we’d know that Patrick has got to be Jesse but is Mr. Krabs the Mike Ehrmantraut of this world? Does that make Plankton Gus Fring? Why haven’t I had to look up any of these Spongebob references?

With the three scenes played out in this mash-up, the best has got to be the confrontation from the Breaking Bad episode Crazy Handful of Nothin’ in which Walt causes a explosion in Tuco’s headquarters. The fact the scene from Spongebob didn’t need much editing for it to work with the audio probably means ol Spongebob is one terminal diagnosis away from quitting the Krusty Krab and “cooking” something else up for his neighbors.
