SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Goes Full AMAZING FANTASY in New Poster (Exclusive)

With great power comes great responsibility, and with a great Spider-Man movie comes an even greater responsibility to deliver top-notch movie posters. There have already been a slew of terrific teaser images from Sony, as well as a drool-worthy limited edition release from Mondo, but now it seems that the studio is taking its great responsibility seriously. Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters today with a brand new comic book-inspired poster that looks like the 2017 version of 1962’s Amazing Fantasy #15, the comic in which the Amazing Spider-Man first swung out of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko’s brains and into our hearts.

Looks good, right? Here’s the cover of Amazing Fantasy #15 for comparison.

Pretty damn close, huh? I always was fond of those web wings that Spidey sometimes rocked.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, and Michael Keaton as the Vulture, is the third Spider-Man franchise we’ve had in 15 years, but according to early buzz it may well be the best. Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming focuses on Peter Parker trying to balance surviving high school with surviving a life of being a spandex-clad superhero. After getting a taste of the big leagues in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man is having a hard time adjusting to the “street level” crime he is relegated to fighting back in New York City. But with the villainous Vulture threatening to unleash havoc on the city and people that Peter loves most, he’s going to have to learn exactly what it means to be a hero.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is in theaters now. What is your favorite poster for the film thus far?

Is there a secret Avenger hiding in Spider-Man: Homecoming?
