We are a little over two months away until Spider-Man: Homecoming, and we can’t wait to see what Spidey’s going to get up to in his new solo film. We know, we know–too many Spider-Man movies, right? But after making his debut in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland’s version of Peter Parker has captured the hearts of Marvel fans everywhere. Now you can have your own version of the MCU’s resident wall-crawler in your own home thanks to NECA’s new 1/4 scale Spider-Man figure.
The figure comes with 5 sets of hands and different eye lenses so Spider-Man can web-swing when he needs to, and express himself, just like in the comics. I love the fact that we are able to get that from the MCU Spider-Man. They even explained why his lenses would contract due to his heightened senses. Using that “scientific” explanation (“scientific” is in quotes because, well, comics) also sets Spidey apart from Deadpool and how he emotes, so it doesn’t look like a blatant rip-off.
If you think this figure looks awesome as is, great. However, according to both the photos and NECA’s Twitter account, this is merely just a prototype. The costume in the pictures looks too smooth, even if it is on skin tight. Remember, when NECA released the first pictures for their Henry Cavill Superman figure, it looked like he was wearing a wool-knitted suit. Once the full texturing of the figure is complete, fans will have an amazing (pun intended) new figure to add to the already great line NECA is known for.
The figure will be released this September, so be on the lookout at both NECA’s website as well as your local comic book retailer so you can pre-order Spider-Man once he becomes available. You can also check out more pictures of Spidey down in the gallery below.
So what you do think? Will you be adding the web-head to your collection? How do you think Spider-Man fits into the MCU? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
