We’re another day closer to Solo‘s May release, but how many more days do we have to wait for a trailer? We tried to figure that out on today’s Nerdist News Talks Back, along with some talk about The Rock and a discussion about whether Danny McBride‘s Dundee is one big joke.
Guest host Amy Vorpahl was joined today by editor Amy Ratcliffe, along with producers Jesse Gill and Derek Johnson. They kicked things off with one of Hollywood’s best ass kickers, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He ended 2017 on a high note with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, but how pumped are we for Rampage? Does a giant flying wolf have us lining up to see the movie on April 20 (4/20), or are we going to see Super Troopers 2 that day instead? And what do we make of that insane-sounding Rock musical in development?
Last week we also got a hard-to-believe teaser for a Danny McBride Crocodile Dundee revival. Was it hard-to-believe because it’s nothing more than a joke, or is this a real movie? Do we hope this film actually does exist?
Finally, we are only five months away from the next Star Wars movie, Solo, and we still don’t have a trailer for it. One popular Reddit rumor says it will premiere during the Super Bowl, while other reports say it could be released this week. Are we that close to one? Which would be a better time for the film’s success? And will it have any bearing on the announcement of the next standalone film in the franchise?
