STAR WARS SOLO Toys Confirm the Kessel Run, Prove Lando Looks Amazing Even in Plastic

We spent months worrying about Solo since Lucasfilm didn’t release a teaser for the film until the Super Bowl, but since then we’ve been inundated with images, interviews, and insights, all of which has kicked our excitement into hyperdrive. But today we got something that truly gets us hyped to visit the galaxy far, far away once more–new toys. Not only do they look great, they’ve revealed the secrets behind the Millennium Falcon’s old look and proved Donald Glover’s young Lando Calrissian looks just as suave in plastic.

The initial wave of collectibles and figures for the film hit the internet today ahead of Toy Fair, which includes LEGO‘s Kessel Run Millennium Falcon set. The 1,414 piece set features the new (old) look for our favorite hunk of junk and confirms a major plot detail: that the movie will include Han’s famous 12 parsec Kessel Run.

The ship even opens up so Han can sit down and enjoy a drink when he isn’t fleeing Imperial ships or for when he wants to play dejarik with Chewie.

It also comes with seven figures: Han Solo, Chewbacca, Qi’ra, Lando, a Kessel droid, and two mystery figures that are apparently important enough to worry about spoilers, even for a set that gives away a previously unconfirmed plot point.

The set will hit stores this April and will retail for $169.99.

If you’re looking for something more realistic, io9 announced Hasbro’s new detailed Black Series six-inch figures for the movie, which includes Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo, who looks very young.

There’s also a fantastic figure for Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra, who we imagine is going to be an instant hit with cosplayers.

And because apparently it’s a law and you can’t have a new Star Wars movie without a new type of stormtrooper, there’s also an Imperial range trooper, who looks like he could have been used as a reinforcement on Hoth.

But our favorite is the one that is immediately in the discussion for best Star Wars figure ever, this incredible likeness of Donald Glover’s Lando, which is so cool looking Miles Davis would feel like a nerd in its presence.

Did we say best Star Wars ever? Uh, this might be the best figure ever period. All of these Black Series figures will be available from Hasbro this spring.

And if you’d like something for your kids to play with (or let’s be honest, you), EW has another new series of Solo and Star Wars toys from Hasbro. It includes their own Kessel Run Millennium Falcon, which comes with a figure of Han Solo carrying a mysterious canister.

The $99 ship lights up and plays sounds and even has breakaway panels for when you “enter” hyperspace.

It includes our best information yet why the Falcon used to look so different in the front, when it had a tapered nose–it might have been equipped with canon blasters before it was mostly used by Han for smuggling. The front part even contained a smaller ship.

As EW not-so subtly points out, “the nose of this toy appears to have weapons that swing out from the front and the nose clearly pulls out into a separate, smaller ship,” which will remind fans of the Ghost from Star Wars Rebels. We would have killed to have information like this about the movie a month ago, now we’re getting it in toy form.

The Falcon has a captain’s quarters, too, as well as hidden compartments which always come in handy when you need to hide.

Qi’ra and Chewie also are getting their own figures (each $7.99) to add to the set.

That’s a whole lot of new toys for us to add to our chest. And to think, a month ago we weren’t even sure we were going to get the movie.
