Soft In Da Paint

There was the late Bob Ross, the frizzy-haired, soft-spoken king of speed painting on PBS for many years. There’s a dubstep remix of Waka Flocka Flame’s “Hard in Da Paint.” And now, in case you’ve yet to catch it, courtesy of ScreenWerks’ Jordan Laws, there’s this (NSFW unless the sound’s off, but why would you do that?):

Eat your heart out, Thomas Kinkade.

  1. It is what it is… poor ol’ Bob Ross continues to be low-hanging fruit for spoofers and parodists (if that isn’t a word it should be.)

gotta say…i dont care for it. Bob Ross is a bit of a hero to me. Im not opposed to some fun editing/mixing/remixing including him, but frankly this video seems kinda lazy. Personally i think it would be far more creative if they setup a “fresh beat” and did some fun quick-cut editing of Ross sound bites. Seems to me you could almost come up with a whole tune built around “hhhhhhhappy clouds..hhh hhhh hhhaappy clouds”. Could also grab a sample of the AMAZING sound of his brush against the canvas and loop that. hmmm….i think im on to something here…..maybe i should put my money where my mouth is and do it myself?….

Peace, Mountains, Pine trees, and happy little clouds.
