Sneak Peek at DOCTOR WHO Finale “Death in Heaven”

After a bombshell of a cliffhanger as we had at the end of Doctor Who Series 8’s penultimate episode, there’s no telling what we’ll get in the finale, “Death in Heaven,” still written by Steven Moffat and directed by Rachel Talalay, but now that we know Missy’s true identity, what she’s doing with the Cybermen, and why it’s imperative they get Danny Pink out of the Nethersphere (somehow), it’s going to be a downhill careening barrage toward the finish. For the last time this series, until Christmas of course, we have a teaser and a gallery for the next episode.

What we do know is this: “With Cybermen on the streets of London, old friends unite against old enemies, and the Doctor takes to the air in a startling new role. Can the mighty UNIT contain Missy? As the Doctor faces his greatest challenge, sacrifices must be made before the day is won.”

UNIT is back and along with them Kate Stewart and Osgood, who seems to have traded in her Tom Baker scarf for a Matt Smith bow tie, which we can only assume she’ll maintain is cool. Oh, and something’s going to happen in the air. The air! Have a look at the teaser and following that, a gallery of new images.

A Cyberman on the side of the airplane is way scarier than whatever it was William Shatner saw in The Twilight Zone, and once again, things flying out of St. Paul’s Cathedral is big and huge and not something we’ve seen on the show, really, since the latter David Tennant days. Guess we’re back to London being at risk.

We’ll find out what everything means on Saturday, and be sure to come back here for my review.

Would you run for the hills or would you be one of the people taking Cybermen selfies? Share that plus your theories for the finale below!

    1. So what does Amy and Rory’s grave have to do with this episode? Do they come back as cybermen as well? 2. If Danny doesn’t come back to life, then how does Clare get pregnant to give birth and then visit him in “Listen”? 3. If the Master had escaped Galifrey, Rassilon and the Infinity Gauntlet and then took over a time lady’s body, then does this mean that they will be after him?

  2. Fiendrunner says:

This was not that good an episode. Are they totally paranoid about creating new villains for the Doctor or just moronically incapable of devising something new? I love the doctor, and for the most part, have loved the writing of the new series since Chris Eccleston. However, the buildup to this reveal was done so well, only to cheap out and have it be a pair of over used, been there, done that has been villains was mostly just disappointing. If it had been another time lord, with minions that weren’t part of the over done universe, THAT would have been great. expanded options, something about someone getting out of the time war? something relating to the time war being trapped in a painting, ANYTHING but what has been done before too many times.

I hope they get danny back but incase they cant think back to ep 4 “listen” and remember that orson pink said one of his great grandparents was a time traveller (implication being that clara and danny have at least one child together) but if danny is dead and cant be brought back that leaves only one way that that future doesnt cause a paradox: clara is already pregnant when danny is hit by the carThey have hinted that something major happens to clara in the christmas special #drwhoconspirasy

In a graveyard picture the Doctor is wearing some kind of bracelet. In another picture is Missy/Master who is wearing the same bracelet. Galifreyan jewelry or something we will have to pay attention to next Saturday?…

Wasn’t it John Lithgow that saw something outside a plane in ‘The Twilight Zone Movie’?

  6. Beardworks says:

I am super excited and ridiculously nervous about the finale. This has been my favorite series since like at least 5. Hope it gets the close it deserves! Capaldi has been amazing!
