SLEEPY HOLLOW Renewed for Season Three, Announces New Showrunner

And there was much rejoicing in the village of Sleepy Hollow!

Sleepyheads, your wish has been granted: Sleepy Hollow is coming back to Fox for a third season! The announcement was made this morning alongside the new showrunner, The Glades series creator and White Color co-executive producer Clifton Campbell.

Sleepy Hollow came back for Season Two in 2014 with an expanded episode order–up from 13 in Season One to 18–and made Lyndie Greenwood and John Noble full-time cast members. While some fans and critics had a few issues with the series’ return, the sophomore season ended with a bang, seeing the seemingly-permanent deaths of two major characters in the Sleepy-verse and essentially bringing the remaining core cast back to square one.

There were a few potential season three Easter Eggs left by previous showrunner Mark Goffman for future episodes of the series including the Mills sisters having access to Grace Dixon’s journal, Ichabod being in possession of the Grand Grimoire and Irving regaining his soul from Henry. Irving is still technically dead, though, just for the record.

There has been no announcement yet about how many episodes season three will have, when it will premiere and which writers will remain but it goes without saying that this Sleepyhead is thrilled to have one of her favorite genre shows back in action!

Until you can lay your eyes on season three of the Fox hit, lay your ears on Nerdist’s SleepyCast: The Official Sleepy Hollow Podcast hosted by me, Clarke Wolfe. We go one-on-one with the cast, crew and creators of the series breaking down all of the crazy twists and turns on the show so far!
