SKYRIM SPECIAL EDITION Coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC This Year

And just like that, Skyrim has been officially announced for current generation consoles and PC. This obviously doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as this rerelease was rumored to be launching this year for quite some time now. You can nab a copy on October 28. Not much else was shared about the game, but we did get to see some comparison shots to showcase the improved graphics. And well, it looks pretty. Feast your eyes on the clip above (skip to 3:18).

Considering how beloved this game was on the older consoles, Bethesda couldn’t pass up the chance to release it on the PS4 and Xbox One. It just makes too much sense to do so. As you may already have guessed, the game will of course include all of the add-ons; in other words, prepare to once again be consumed by the game.

Oh, there’s one last piece of news that I forgot to mention: This new version will support mods on the PS4 and Xbox One. The hype is officially real. Seeing as the game was almost unplayable on the PS3 at some point, PlayStation owners will definitely want to give the title a chance if the bugs drove them away the first time around.

Even though this wasn’t the flashiest announcement of Bethesda’s conference (only about a minute was dedicated to the new footage), it will surely make the publisher plenty of money, and keep the Elder Scroll fans at bay–for the time being, at least.

Will you be returning to the classic title? What do you think about the shiny new graphics? Does mod support on consoles alter your decision on whether you’ll be nabbing a copy? Let us know in the comments below!
