SKYLANDERS TRAP TEAM Headed to SDCC With Dark Edition Reveal

Hey Skylanders fans, Activision is bringing the collectible toy game to Comic-Con, along with a Dark Edition featuring new figures and a special villain trap for Skylanders Trap Team.

The publisher released publisher announced Skylanders Trap Team Dark Edition yesterday via press release, with plenty of pictures of the $99 starter edition of the upcoming sequel. To ensure that your home is further filled with tiny, plastic toys, Activision revealed that the Dark Edition would include a copy of the game, three figures, a base, and a Kaos Trap which is larger than the regular monster traps for the game featuring the series villain, Kaos.

Besides getting “Kaotic” with it (ugh, sorry), the October 5 release will also include black and silver variants for new Skylanders characters Snap Shot, Food Fight, and Wildfire along with stickers and a two-sided poster. The whole Skylanders Trap Team Dark Edition shebang is coming to the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii (seriously?), Wii U, PS4, and Xbox One.

And if you’re headed to Comic-Con this week, you can get some hands-on time with the game at Booth #303 and pre-order the game, as well as nab a copy of the con-exclusive Skylanders comic from IDW at Booth #2643 on the show floor. Activision and series developer Toys for Bob will also be running several events for the game during the show, including a Thursday panel featuring the development team and voice actors for the game and a $5,000 costume contest. Oh, and on the 27th, Activision will offer a special kids’ day at various locations where younger players will get a chance to play the game and earn some free swag. And if that isn’t enough Skylanders action for you, then you may very well have a serious addiction.
