Skottie Young’s Creates Massive SPIDER-VERSE Variant Cover

Skottie Young draws the cutest lil Iron Spider.

With the massive Spider-Verse event coming up this fall, Marvel tapped Young to create an interlocking variant cover, joining August’s Superior Spider-Man #32 with Amazing Spider-Man #9 in November. The two covers will link up and create the full image seen below. How many Spider-Men (and women) can you name?

The event sounds like it’s gonna be… something. Time travel. The return of Morlun, the guy who ate Peter Parker’s eyeball that one time. All of the Spider-Men ever.

Young, meanwhile, has a Rocket Raccoon series launching in July. In an interview with Marvel, the artist says the book will have a little bit of absurd, Deadpool-inspired humor as an army of Rocket’s ex-girlfriends – dubbed the Exterminators – target everyone’s favorite Guardian of the Galaxy for revenge. Rocket Raccoon #1 will be on sale July 2.

Superior Spider-Man #32 (8/6/2014)

“Blockbuster writers Dan Slott & Christos Gage join fan-favorite artist Giuseppe Camuncoli for a time travelling tale of epic proportions as the Superior Spider-Man travels to the far future of 2099! But can he stop the coming of the Spider-Verse?”

Amazing Spider-Man #9 (November)

“The sinister Morlun has returned with a singular and terrifying goal – exterminate every Spider-Man in every universe. And it will take thousands of spider-powered heroes to battle back the greatest threat to this universe or any other! Spider-Verse is poised to take the Marvel Universe by storm, and no fan should miss out on these two epic variant covers when they hit comic shops in August and November!”
