Six New Pokémon Revealed in SUN And MOON Trailer

The world of Pokémon just got a little bit bigger. Six new species were revealed today for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon: Wimpod (bug/water), Bounsweet (grass), Comfey (fairy), Mudsdale (ground), Mimikyu (ghost/fairy), and Bewear (normal/fighting). It’s an interesting bunch for sure; the two new fairy types may be the strangest of all. Comfey is a floating lei which is in line with the overall tropical theme of both Sun and Moon, while the strange almost-Pikachu look-alike, Mimikyu, will be a mismatch in battle thanks to its ghost/fairy combination. I still don’t know how to feel about Bewear. Normal types are usually pretty boring, so we’ll have to wait and see if its stats make it a worthy addition to the pocket monster world. Feast your eyes on the reveal trailer above!

That’s not all that was revealed though. You’ll have the option to host competitions using the Pokémon Global Link, and there’s now hyper training for those who would like to focus on strengthening specific Pokémon attributes. Both are great additions for longtime players.

It’s easy to forget that a new pocket monster generation is soon launching with all of the Pokémon Go hype, but Sun and Moon are both looking fantastic. While I’m not a huge fan of all the new monster designs, their type combinations alone make them rather interesting, especially in the competitive scene. That said, let’s take a moment to appreciate that now there’s an ice-cream, key ring, and lei Pokémon.

What do you guys think about the new monsters? Which one is your favorite so far? Does Sun and Moon even matter in a post-Pokémon Go world? Will you be buying either Sun or Moon on November 18? Let us know in the comments below!
