Sideshow Collectibles Brings HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON’s Toothless to Life (Exclusive)

When How to Train Your Dragon soared into theaters in 2010, it resonated with me for a number of reasons, not the least of which being the fact that the dragons in the DreamWorks animated film were basically giant cats. Once we got to know Toothless, the formidable Night Fury, we found out he wasn’t so formidable. I mean, I wouldn’t go out of my way to make him angry, but as long as Hiccup was kind to Toothless, the black dragon repaid him that same kindness, plus a level of adorableness I couldn’t begin to quantify.

Sideshow Collectibles figured out how to capture all of Toothless’ charm and cuteness in their new statue, and we’re so excited to exclusively reveal the first look at him in this video.

Live footage of my reaction:

The statue depicts Toothless after he’s met Hiccup and acquired his prosthetic tail fin. He’s perched upon a rock, ready to leap into action. I think he looks rather majestic. And because it’s Sideshow, the sculpt looks crazy detailed. Pause the video to take a closer look at the texture on Toothless’ skin and scales and to admire how realistic his eyes look. I know the statue’s not made from a huggable material, but I would want to hug this real life Toothless all the same.

If you’re already planning exactly where in your home Toothless will live, fly on over to Sideshow to get more information about the statue and release date.

Now that Toothless is joining us in the real world, I’m already dreaming about other dragons Sideshow could turn into statues. Barf and Belch, maybe a baby Gronckle! Which other dragons do you want to bring home? Tell me in the comments.
