If you love to show off your geek pride by wearing clothing based on your favorite fictional characters from movies, comics or television, these days you’re in luck. Most anyone can go to any Target or Wal-Mart and get a Star Wars shirt, Captain America underwear, or maybe even a Doctor Who hat. But what if your geeky interests lean towards characters not from modern pop culture, but those of myths and legends, or evenâdare I suggestâreal people?
Well, Archie McPhee might have some of you out there covered. At least those of you out there who are big fans of our sixteenth president for example, as they’ve just offered up a nifty Abraham Lincoln scarf, which you can wear with pride and show everyone your loyalty to the Union.
If your taste in scarves runs more towards cryptozoological creatures, they’ve also got a Bigfoot scarf for sale as well. Ol’ Sasquatch has had quite a comeback in the past few yearsâwhat with several reality shows about Bigfoot hunters on cable TV where he’s constantly being followed and harassed with camera crews (and yet never seems to show up for his own show. What a diva).
And finally, just in time for the holidays, there’s a lovely Krampus scarf available. For those of you not in the know, Krampus is an folkloric “Christmas Demon” in Germany, Austria, and other Alpine countries who punishes the naughty children at Christmas just as Santa rewards the good ones. There are currently several horror movies being made about Krampus, and if you haven’t seen the Krampus parade from Austria on YouTube, you should really check it out.
Even Anthony Bourdain did his iteration of a Krampus Carol, which you should definitely watch below:
All three scarves are available to order now on Archie McPhee’s website.
