This weekend, Hub Network premieres a new superhero cartoon entitled SheZow, created by Obie Scott Wade. It tells the story of a young boy named Guy who moves into his deceased Aunt Agnes’ house with his sister, Kelly, and their parents. He and Kelly quickly discover that Aunt Agnes was the world-renowned superhero SheZow, and her magic super power ring is still there. Though Kelly wants to be the next SheZow, Guy jokingly puts the ring on and says the incantation, only to then be transformed into the pink-clad heroine himself. Now he’s got to learn how to fight crime, and be a girl half the time.
The program premieres Saturday, June 1st, at 12:30pm ET/9:30am PT on Hub Network. What do you think of the show’s concept? Let us know in the comments below.
Watch out women with tv shows like this, the future generation of men might not want you. They will be to busy trying to be you.
AH HA,
@ersatz,
Proof there are fellow anime fans in the Nerdist audience.
Although, my first thought was “Is This A Zombie?” got made into a cartoon…(and toned waaay down.)

Then I realized, I doubt they will ever be that bold.
But, I’m afraid I’d have to agree with mewzgit.
For some reason ppl who have never cared for animated shows, or were probably always told (and believed) that they’re only for kids, always seem to take them at face value. And never really look into what the underlying messages are in them.
Hopefully the current & next generation of youth won’t grow up being forced to believe that stereotypes are what’s right and that’s just how it’s going to be. Good to see a little broadening of people’s minds, even if it’s only little by little.
This looks like a fun show.
But que complaints by homophobic parents in 5…4…3…2…
RANMA 1/2
Love the concept…but yeah..all that pink? Wonder if he’ll complain about his hair and heels. Interesting idea.
This is more funny then offenive or PC.
Nice to see they’re challenging gender stereotypes with all those pink accessories for SheZow.
