SHE-RA AND THE PRINCESSES OF POWER Moves up Release Date With New Trailer

UPDATE, Nov 1st, 2018: Due to popular demand, and perhaps finishing ahead of schedule, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power has moved up its release date to less than two weeks from today, on November 13th. To celebrate, Netflix has put out a new trailer, which includes some footage we’ve seen before, but also some larger looks at the Fright Zone, and bigger monsters including a lamprey-like kaiju (possibly an ally of Leech, the Evil Horde’s answer to Mer-Man?) and arachnids that vaguely resemble the old Monstroid toy.

There’s also a new theme song: Aaliyah Rose’s “Warriors.” (We’re really hoping the “She-Ra, She-Ra!” chant when she transforms comes back in some form, though.)

Previously:
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is at New York City Comic Con in a big way–literally. Not only is there a giant statue of the Princess of Power herself on the show floor, just waiting to take a selfie with her adoring fans, but today Netflix and DreamWorks Animation unveiled a brand new full trailer and images for the upcoming series.

If you’ve been a fan of She-Ra since childhood, there are almost too many new glimpses of familiar faces to count. Shadow Weaver, Mermista, Perfuma, Entrapta, Sea Hawk, Swift Wind, and, of course, the evil Hordak can all be seen in the series’ first full trailer.

The trailer also explores an interesting new twist on Adora’s origin story as a part of the Horde, giving her a friendship with Catra that will certainly play a large part in her decision to join the Rebellion.

With no apparent mention of He-Man or appearance by the Sorceress in the trailer–although that voice emanating from the Power Sword sounds slightly familiar–it will be interesting to see how She-Ra’s story takes shape without her twin brother. She still fights for the honor of Grayskull, as heard in the trailer’s final moments, so longtime fans can’t help but be intrigued by this new version of Etheria.

(We also couldn’t help scouring the trailer for Loo-Kee. Old habits and all.)
