Dixie De La Tour (Bawdy Storytellingâs resident Sexual Folklorist) is equal parts educator, entertainer, and irreverent host. After realizing that personal narrative storytelling and the sex positive world were an excellent fit (not to mention informative, community building and FUN as all get out), Dixie created Bawdy Storytelling, the Nationâs Original sex and storytelling performance series. For over six years, sheâs been coaxing liberating tales out of Real People and Rockstars, creating unforgettable experiences for performers and audiences alike. An award winning Bay Area landmark, Bawdy has been garnering national attention for their shows by consistently showcasing the vulnerability, unexpected transcendence and hilarity of human sexuality while delivering sex-ed in an entertaining way. Bawdy is currently monthly in San Francisco and Los Angeles, with new cities coming soon. You can follow us at @Bawdy, like us at Facebook.com/BawdyStorytelling & see our upcoming events at BawdyStorytelling.com
In addition to being Bawdyâs founder/host/curator/storytelling coach, Dixie also hosts BawdySlam in San Francisco, is about to launch BawdyTalks (similar to TedTalks, but for Sexuality) & runs Fearless Storytelling, which offers group workshops and private storytelling coaching.
Hang out with Sex Nerd Sandra on Twitter and Facebook. It will be the fun times.
Ah! I see…the storytelling even happens a week from now…break a…cadence?
Why, thanks! I think this might be the most self-revelatory episode so far, even given some of the previous ones…it certainly gave me a better sense of why there have been some of the (sometimes seemingly odd) squick moments you’ve expressed from time to time in previous episodes…I can certainly sympathize, even when I don’t share quite the same boundary/tabu.
I bet the storytelling session was pretty impressive, indeed…a very engaging conversation on both your parts.
And a lucky That Guy at the beginning, indeed.
