Jennifer “Dr. Jenn” Gunsaullus, Ph.D., is a sociologist who works as a sexuality and mindfulness speaker, and a relationship and intimacy counselor and coach. As a sociologist (different than a psychologist or a licensed therapist) she merges a blend of coaching, counseling, education, and awareness-raising in her work. Dr. Jenn got her start in the sex and relationship field 20 years ago as a sexual health peer educator at Lehigh University in her home state of Pennsylvania. She now merges her practical training in sexual health and academic training in sociology with her passion for holistic health and mind/body/spirit perspectives.

Dr. Jenn is a frequent lecturer on relationship and intimacy topics offering unique and powerful presentations on healthy communication and fulfilling intimacy. She has also been an adjunct professor for courses including Human Sexuality, Women and Health, and Social Psychology. Dr. Jenn writes for The Good Men Project and was a contributing writer for Pacific San Diego Magazine, and is a Sex & Relationship Expert for Wake Up San Diego, Fox 5 San Diego News, San Diego Living, and U-T TV. In 2010, she was named one of San Diego Magazine’s “Women Who Move the City.” In addition, she is on the Board of Directors for Jeans 4 Justice, a nonprofit to end sexual violence, and is the co-chair of the Communications Leadership Team for the nonprofit donor’s circle Women Give San Diego.

    http://smilingmind.com.au/ is a very neutral and fact-based online meditation tool, with different programs and stuff. no new-agery, but not much explanation either – it’s for doing stuff. (actually I checked, and there is some background info) http://smilingmind.com.au/blog/#!/category/science-of-smiling-mind. I could imagine an evil genius whispering nasty shit in the background of the recordings, but I find that unlikely. 🙂

    Just a remark about the part where you apologetically talk about the lingo involved. It doesn’t have to be new-age-y or unscientific. I’m learning from a brain scientist who gives vipasana/mindfulness lessons from the strictly scientific and factual POV, and it speaks very well to the atheist skeptic in me. No mental hoop jumping is needed to imagine qi or other mystic lingo. Got me started looking into adjacent things as well and pick and adopt them into my life if found worthy, which is what the Buddha advocated, after all 😉

    Sadly all his lessons are on YouTube but in Hebrew, so linking is a bit pointless, but I bet there is someone out there doing scientific mindfulness lessons in English as well.
