See “Pop My Culture” or “You Made It Weird” Live In L.A. 9/23

You’ve heard about the Riot LA alternative comedy festival coming up September 21st through 23rd here in L.A. from the Nerdist Podcast episode with the Comedy Mutant lineup, but it should be noted that two of our own Nerdist podcast network shows are going to be appearing there live, and you can go see them. And you’ll want to do them, only they’re both scheduled for the same time, Sunday, September 23rd at 5 pm, so you might have to split yourself in two. You can do that, right?

How about this: Pop My Culture wil be live at the Five Stars Bar in downtown L.A., and for this special live edition, Cole Stratton and Vanessa Ragland will be joined by an epic guest panel of voice talent: Rob Paulsen, Tara Strong, Maurice Lamarche, and Cree Summer. Regular Nerdist readers and podcast listeners who’ll be around should be clicking the ticket link already, because this will be all kinds of awesome. And tickets are five bucks. Five bucks for that lineup is a steal. Click here to buy tickets, because you know that hearing four of the most prolific and talented voice actors in the business banter about pop culture with Cole and Vanessa live in an intimate venue is worth WAY more than five bucks. UPDATE: Add Phil Lamarr to the lineup! Are you KIDDING me? HOW CAN YOU NOT GO?

At the same time, one Mr. Pete Holmes will be performing his celebrated parlor tricks in a live version of You Made it Weird, also on September 23rd at 5 pm. He’ll be at the Downtown Independent Theater keeping it crispy, and you can be there to crisp it up with him. Tickets are $20, and you can get them by clicking here. Pete is always a hot ticket, so you’ll want to get a move on and buy tickets now before it’s too late.

By the way, the two venues are practically right on top of each other — maybe a couple of minutes walk — so there’s that. And the festival is selling passes for $60 and $80 for the whole weekend of shows; click here for that. Some of the folks you’ve heard on Nerdist network podcasts are appearing at the many shows on the bill, and some of our hosts are appearing, too, like Kumail Nanjiani at “The Best of Riot LA,” “The Grawlix,” and “KCRW Presents… Storytime for Grown-Ups,” Todd Glass at “The Best of Riot LA,” and Brent Weinbach at “Imaginary Radio Program” and “The Best of Riot LA,” plus Pete at the Comedy Mutant show at Club Nokia on September 21st.

So go. And stay tuned for some more network podcast L.A. live appearance information coming up….
