See Ghost Rider Go Full Flame for AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. and More TV News

The days until the fall TV season kicks off are finally in the single digits. We’re inching closer to premiere season, and that means more promotional photos and trailers. And speaking of: Today’s TV-Cap has promo photos for both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Ghost Rider!) and Supergirl (Clark Kent!), some info on how the television Negan will differ from the one in The Walking Dead comics, and more.

Flame On. Okay, “Flame on” might be the catchphrase of another fiery superhero, but it applies to Robbie Reyes’ Ghost Rider. Yahoo has revealed the first look at the character with his head and car in all their blazing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. glory. It’s going to be neat to have Flame Head around when the show returns on September 20. I hope everyone has extinguishers handy. [Yahoo, Image: ABC/Yahoo]

Regrets. The Doctors in the modern series of Doctor Who, for the most part, played the character for a few seasons. Christopher Eccleston is the exception: He portrayed the Time Lord for a single series, and he recently told 774 ABC Melbourne that he wish he could have stayed for longer. He said, “It was kind of tragic for me, that I didn’t play him for longer. He’s a beautiful character and I have a great deal of professional pride and had I done a second season, there would have been a marked improvement in my performance.” You can hear the full interview above. Admins and Criminal. Casting update time! In the world of Fox’s Scream Queens, Kirstie Alley has been cast as a series regular for season two (premiering September 20). She’ll play the hospital’s administrator. Over at Netflix’s The Punisher, Ben Barnes has also reportedly been cast in a series regular role. He’ll play opposite Jon Bernthal’s character, but there aren’t any details about his character yet. One rumor suggests he’ll play Bobby Saint. [TVLine]

Going Retro. The kid cast of Stranger Things might have played characters living in the ’80s, but they haven’t necessarily had a lot of experience with toys and candy from that time period. So, BuzzFeed Video gave them retro toys (apparently a Furby from 1998 is retro now), and they react. Millie Bobby Brown trying Pop Rocks for the first time ever is the best thing. [Nerdist]

Vicious Lizard. Kristofer Hivju is taking a break from Westeros to voice a creature on Disney Junior’s The Lion Guard. He’s playing a monitor lizard named Kenge in the world set in The Lion King universe. Hivju shared a clip of him at work on Instagram, and I appreciate how much energy he invests in the voice. See what the Kenge looks like here at Nerdist.

Flying onto CW. The skies of National City might not be as bright now that Supergirl’s moved to The CW and production’s switched locales to Vancouver from Los Angeles, but Kara Danvers looks as chipper as ever. Photos from the first two episodes of season two show Kara and Cat Grant, Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent (he rocks it), and a peek at Katie McGrath’s Lena Luthor. I can’t wait for more Supergirl! It returns on October 10. You can check out more photos at CBR—there’s lots of Supergirl and Superman. [Images: The CW]

The Dark Truth. Darkwing Duck creator Tad Stones recently said Darkwing and DuckTales aren’t connected and take place in separate universes. But is he right? Kyle Hill makes some compelling arguments on the subject in the latest Nerdist News. [Nerdist]

The Differences. When characters make the jump between mediums, there are always going to be differences, and so it is with The Walking Dead’s Negan. Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan spoke with Entertainment Weekly about how much the television Negan will contrast his comic book origins. He said, “I’ve got to make this guy real, you know what I mean? I think that was the key—if I just make this guy manic and kind of one dimensional then I don’t have anywhere to go.” Read the complete interview at EW. [Nerdist]
