See Behind-the-Scenes Photos of STAR WARS’ Original Spaceship Models

No matter how many photos that have come out about the making of George Lucas’ seminal sci-fi adventure series (known colloquially as Star Wars), every time there are new ones, we still get excited. That really says a lot about the staying power of a movie that, by all accounts, could have just been terrible to the power of BAD. But, as we all know, it wasn’t and remains one of the best trilogies ever made by people with film cameras. Regardless, on Reddit, 140 behind-the-scenes photos of the making of the various spaceship models featured in A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi have popped up and offer us a rare glimpse at the component pieces of these iconic crafts, as well as just how detailed they all are when completed.

Below is a gallery of some of our favorite images, but the full complement of pictures feature all the best ships that we all probably had toys of as a kid and/or now, like the Millennium Falcon, the X-Wing, the Y-Wing, the Snowspeeder, the Imperial Shuttle, TIE Fighters, TIE Interceptors, Imperial Star Destroyers, and even the dreaded Death Star. On top of that there are pictures of ships probably nobody cares about but are in those movies like the B-Wing or the Rebel Medical Frigate. Now, somebody get that walking carpet out of your way and have a look!
