See 5 New Photos of Vintage David Bowie

David Bowie is a musician whose sounds are ever-changing, but what makes him so unique are also his many physical permutations. From the glorious costumes of Ziggy Stardust and The Thin White Duke, to the clean-cut gentleman he’s known to be, to the stylish and glittery, gender-bending artist–he’s done it all.

And luckily, his longtime collaborator, Masayoshi Sukita, has been there too, capturing all those moments on camera. Sukita is now in his late seventies, and it’s crazy that there hasn’t been any US exhibitions of his work. Until now. The Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York is opening an exhibition dedicated to Sukita’s inconic photography, it will be open until November 30, but if you can’t make it, don’t fret. Here are a selection of unearthed shots from the show.

“Time May Change Me” – 1972

“Hang onto Yourself”- 1973

Speaking about the exhibition, gallery director Aaron Zych told the New York Daily News, “These images will let people see into the world, from his point of view, and see some very special moments in Bowie’s life, beginning in the ‘Ziggy Stardust’ era and continuing over the next 40-plus years.”

Don’t forget to check out the gallery below for more of Sukita’s images. Then if you want to see even more images, head to the Morrison Hotel Gallery‘s site.
