We’re just a month shy of the seventh season premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead, where we’ll finally find out which character is falling under Negan’s tricked-out baseball bat of doom, Lucille. And now the network has released a new trailer for the highly anticipated season, which features the new character of King Ezekiel, played by Khary Payton.
Also prominently featured in the trailer is Morgan, meaning we now know he survives…at least for awhile. None of the other principal cast is seen in this latest trailer, as they are being very careful not to reveal who gets knocked off in the season premiere. You can watch the new trailer down below:
Also released by AMC is season seven’s new key art (which you can see below), featuring one very pissed of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) swinging Lucille around. According to the official press release, “the first half of season seven sees the group fractured, broken, bereaved, and picking up the pieces while living under the thumb of oppression. Negan will have successfully brought the survivors under his will, brutally convincing them to live under his rules with a deadly and horrific example of what happens if they don’t.”
So who do you think is getting killed off in the season premiere? My guess — It’s not going to be Rick, because duh, this isn’t Game of Thrones, and it probably won’t be Carl because that would send Rick down a spiral that will finally make him impossible for anyone to get behind anymore. It could be Glenn or Maggie, since Glenn famously died in the comics. But considering the lack of great Asian characters on television, maybe killing off the only Asian dude on the show isn’t a good idea. And everyone just loves Daryl, Carol, and Michonne too much. If I were a betting man, I’d go with either Abraham or Eugene.
The seventh season of The Walking Dead premieres on Sunday, October 23.
