SCREAM QUEENS Adds Lea Michele, Joe Manganiello and More to Cast!

Today at their TCA presentation Fox announced that Lea Michele, Joe Manganiello, Abigail Breslin and Keke Palmer would be joining the cast of Glee creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan’s new horror/comedy anthology series Scream Queens. Previously announced leads are none other than one of the original “Scream Queens” Jamie Lee Curtis and American Horror Story alum Emma Roberts. Pop star Ariana Grande has also been announced as a reoccurring guest star for the freshman season which I am going to guess means there will be singing on Scream Queens a la American Horror Story: Freak Show and Glee.

I wonder if the creative horror/ comedy juices that have led American Horror Story down a more campy path which have led to fewer scares and more variety show style entertainment (musical numbers, numerous guest stars, etc) being directed into Scream Queens will allow the FX anthology series down a more dark, dramatic path in future seasons, something I would argue has been lacking since the premiere AHS series Murder House.

Whichever way they take Scream Queens, it has a very impressive cast lined up thus far. Are there any other guest stars you’d like to see join the Scream Queen team? My vote goes to Cher and Kristen Bell. Yes, you read that right. If we’re going to make this into a campy burlesque horror show, we might as well regroup half of the cast of the movie and and make it a literal campy Burlesque horror show!

Scream Queens is expected to premiere on Fox this fall.
