Wipe the blood from your teeth, punch an April Fool in the face, and get in the pit—it’s time for a recap of this week’s best hardcore, metal, and punk rock. We dug through the record crates to find the new tunes we think you need to spin and rage to. Strap in kiddies, it’s time to rock.

We’ve been hyping the new Graves at Sea LP for a while now. We told you it was their best stuff to date and that it was easily one of the heaviest, dirtiest records of the year. Well, you no longer have to take our word for it, because the The Curse That Is can be streamed in full below. Listen to it while you bury treasure and toss the bones of a mutinous bastard into a watery grave. Or just enjoy it while you are doing regular, non-pirate-related things.

Polar has released a video for the new song “Until the Light” which is featured on their upcoming album No Cure No Saviour. The socially charged and politically conscious hardcore band is putting their energy into helping others, such as London’s homeless. The video features the hardships and realities of real life people living on the streets of a big city. It’s sad and dark, but a topic that is too often ignored. The song is pretty damn good, too, featuring that huge hardcore sound that Polar is known for. Sing the songs of change, friends.

Greys is an awesome band. This a well documented fact. “Blown Out” is a track off of their new album Outer Heaven, which is due on April 22. It’s a rad song, and bigger sounding than the previous Greys stuff. Just listen to those drums! Freaking thunderous. There’s a video, too, which features a very pretty girl slowly losing it. Good stuff all around.

COUGH is back with their first new album in five years! You can check out the track “The Wounding Hours” below, and then go pre-order this bad boy. It sounds like the soundtrack to a haunted house—sinister, crawling, and riddled with evil. We can’t help but love this. Listening to this at the right volume will probably conjure demons or something, so be careful.

Wrong’s full length album debut is almost upon us (April 29!) and we’ve been treated to another track premiere! This one is called “Boil,” and it sounds even more like Helmet than the previous tracks we’ve heard (that’s a compliment). This band is heavy, like the way eating too many donuts feels in your tummy heavy. The central riff is supremely awesome and loaded with groove. You want this album, folks. Trust us. You need this album.

Post-hardcore band Cables & Arms just released a video for their song “Hang The Moon,” and it’s worth a watch. The song feels like it’s from another era—a time when bands like Sunny Day Real Estate ruled the planet. I’d call it emo, but emo has become a dirty word, so we’ll go with “emotional hardcore.” That’s okay, right? We can all stand to get in touch with a our feelings a little—doesn’t make you any less of a hardcore rocker.

Finally, we just heard news that Oathbreaker has entered the studio to record a new album. This has us tickled pink, because we love Oathbreaker like a vulture loves a rotting corpse. If you aren’t familiar with them, change that right now by listening to their last album, Eros|Antero. It’s fast, brutal, and intense. Oathbreaker doesn’t make it out to the U.S. very often, so if you live stateside make sure you watch for upcoming tours to support this 2016 album. We hear rumors of a Fall release, so keep you eyes peeled and your ears open.
