SAVED BY THE BELL Exec Thinks Zack and Kelly Would Be Divorced, and More TV News

All good things must end, right? That’s what a Saved by the Bell executive producer thinks about Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski’s marriage, anyway. Learn more in today’s TV-Cap and stick around for a Game of Thrones Sansa Stark theory, Stranger Things exclusive merchandise, and more.

Not Meant to Be. Getting married on your high school sweetheart didn’t always end well in the realm of ’90s TV, but we didn’t get to see the future for Zack and Kelly on Saved By the Bell. TVLine recently interviewed series executive producer Peter Engel, who has a new memoir about his time working on the series on shelves, and asked if the popular couple would still be married today. Engel said, “Probably not. Well, they’d be married — but not to each other.” What else does he think the Bayside High gang is up to? Read about it at TVLine.

Bad Artemis. Prometheus is causing problems for Oliver and company on Arrow, and one of Oliver’s allies is helping his enemy. That’s going to do wonderful things for his trust issues. If you’re all caught up on the show, watch the above promo for the next installment, “What We Leave Behind.” [CBR]

Breaking It Down. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life was released on Netflix one week ago. I know a lot of friends who spent last Friday bingeing the miniseries, and I bet you do, too. According to streaming monitor Symphony Advanced Media, Gilmore Girls scored big ratings. Keep in mind, Netflix doesn’t release their numbers, so Symphony’s work may not be accurate. Get all the ratings info at The Hollywood Reporter. Then, hop over to TVLine to read an interview with Amy-Sherman Palladino asking the big questions about the revival, especially those final four words.

Negan Thoughts. Since his arrival to The Walking Dead, Negan has caused a stir. That’s probably an understatement. And apparently, he’s confirmed to stay through season eight of the AMC series. Kendall thinks his continued presence is a positive thing. Learn why here at Nerdist.

Finally! Stranger Things has been out for months, and merchandising is finally catching up with the well-received Netflix original. Funko released Pop! figures, and now, Hot Topic and BoxLunch are releasing a whole bunch of apparel and accessories, including Eleven’s pink dress. See the whole collection right this way. All In One Place. Some cable networks like HBO and Cinemax have made it easier than ever to enjoy their offerings with à la carte subscriptions. To make it even simpler for everyone who streams, they’re condensing a little. You can buy subscriptions for HBO and Cinemax directly through Amazon Prime. Easy peasy. [Slashfilm]

Grabbing Power. Game of Thrones’ Sansa Stark has come a long way in six seasons of the series. It’s been fun to watch her develop more of a backbone, but what will it mean as the plot unfolds? Jessica Chobot theorizes about how Sansa’s power trip will affect season seven in the latest Nerdist News. [Nerdist]

Back to Anarchy. Kurt Sutter and Elgin James are returning to the world of Sons of Anarchy with a new drama pilot, Mayans MC. FX has ordered the pilot with Sutter directing and serving as executive producer. According to a release, Mayans “is set in a post Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border, struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel, and his need for respect from the women he loves.”

The Devil Rocks. Lucifer made a grand comeback in Thursday’s Supernatural. Read my recap.

Devil, Details. Speaking of Lucifer, the rock star/angel was portrayed by Rick Springfield. He brings a different dynamic to the longtime Supernatural character. Sydney talked to the cast about facing this version of Lucifer; you can read their comments here at Nerdist.

Do you think Zack and Kelly would have made it? Tell me in the comments.
