Samurai Armor for Pets Can Make Furry-ous Warriors

True story: as part of a general cat owner’s package I purchased at a pet convention one time, I obtained a bumblebee costume (the insect, not the Transformer) in which to dress my feline friend come Halloween. The outfit was donned, and frankly, she just looked incredibly depressed the entire time. Probably because our cat rulers, rightfully worshiped by the Egyptians, cannot countenance impersonating a lesser life form.

Giving them samurai armor, though? That’s a whole different ballgame. Rashomeow. Yojimball. Akira Purr-osawa. Toshiro Meowfune. It fits, right? (Say yes. We crazy cat people like when other folks do that.)

Via Kotaku, Japanese company Samurai Age, which makes samurai gear for humans, and, um, bottles of booze, has expanded its retail repertoire to also include pet armor. This is arguably more helpful against pets’ own attempts to excessively scratch themselves than the attacks of external enemies, but however it’s used, you can bet Pepe le Pew will be deterred from his usual course of harassment.

Now, if they can make Masters of the Universe style saddles so we can turn our kombat kitties into official Battle Cats, we’ll buy stock in the darn company. Seriously, Samurai Age, you have the powerrrrr!

Do you think you can armor up your pets without significant blood loss? Are you ready to be daimyo to your dearies? Talk to us in comments, and let us know what kind of armor your precious fur babies deserve in this harsh reality.
