It looks like Jeff Goldblum won’t be the only Jurassic Park veteran in Marvel’s upcoming film, Thor: Ragnarok. Sam Neill has revealed that he’s also a member of the cast for Thor‘s third movie.
Via Heroic Hollywood, Neill made the revelation while speaking with ShortList. âOddly enough, Iâm not really allowed to say this, and I canât tell you what it is⦠I did a couple of days on Thor, just before I came over here,” related Neill. “I had to sign all sorts of things that say if I say anything else, Marvelâs Secret Agents, and they are lethal, will come and get me, and probably my children as well.â
From the way that Neill described it, his role in Thor: Ragnarok is more than a cameo, but not necessarily a major part in the movie. Neill recently starred in Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi‘s Hunt for the Wilderpeople, and we’d be shocked if Waititi can resist the chance to reunite Neill and Goldblum onscreen. If so, then perhaps Neill should also portray one of Marvel’s Elders of the Universe. Goldblum is already playing the Grandmaster and Benicio del Toro is the Collector (a role which he actually originated in the tag scene for Thor: The Dark World). Of the remaining Elders, we’d say that Neill might be a good fit for the Gardner or the Astronomer.
If Neill were a younger man, we might also suggest that he play Balder the Brave, a constant companion of Thor’s who has been oddly absent from the MCU. We’d still love to see Balder make his Marvel live-action debut, and Neill could potentially be an older Balder than his traditional appearances in the comic.
We’ll find out for sure whom Neill is playing when Thor: Ragnarok is released on November 3. Who do you think he  should portray? Share your theories in the comment section below!
