In less than a week, Deadpool 2 will hit theaters and once again bring fans into the world of Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth. Ryan Reynolds has lived in that world for over a decade as he fought to bring Deadpool to the big screen. But in all of that time, Reynolds never took the opportunity to try out the Deadpool video game. However, Reynolds finally got his hands on the game when he appeared as a guest on Jacksepticeye’s YouTube channel.
“I’ve played Deadpool, but I haven’t played Deadpool,” admitted Reynolds early in the video. In fact, Reynolds appeared to be hopelessly lost in the game, as he couldn’t quite master it. As such, Reynolds simply allowed the host to show him the game while answering some questions about Deadpool 2.
When given the chance to offer a running commentary as his version of Deadpool, Reynolds declined and praised Nolan North’s performance as Deadpool in the game. At one point, Reynolds even openly admired Deadpool’s butt as the game’s camera angles were demonstrated for him. Surprisingly, Reynolds found himself wishing that his movies had Deadpool’s teleportation ability from the game. Perhaps that’s something he’ll push for in Deadpool 3.
Reynolds did show off some of his comic knowledge when he correctly identified Deadpool’s opponent as Arclight, from Mr. Sinister’s Marauders. That’s the kind of deep dive that we’d love to see in more of the future X-Men movies.
