Ryan Reynolds’ DEADPOOL Movie Teases R-Ratedness and a New Photo

For over a decade, Ryan Reynolds pursued the role of Wade Wilson in a potential Deadpool movie. It was far from a sure thing, but the leaked Deadpool test footage in 2011 paved the way for Reynolds’ dream to come true. And now we’ve got another image of the Merc with the Mouth to sate our hunger for the movie to come out!

In a new interview, Reynolds promised a kiss for whoever released the Deadpool test reel. “And not just a little kiss,” said Reynolds. “but full on the mouth, sloppy, with tongue, for two straight minutes on live television, without commercial interruption. And then I’ll buy you dinner at Red Lobster, at least, and dessert.”

Reynolds did get the chance to play Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which came out in 2009. But that was a far tamer version of the character than the Deadpool running around in Marvel’s comic book universe. The Deadpool feature film will be much closer to the spirit of the original, and it utilizes a Deadpool costume that looks like it escaped from the comic itself!

Producer Simon Kinberg reiterated that the Deadpool movie will have “a hard R [rating]. “It’s graphic. Nothing is taboo. You either commit to a truly outrageous boundary-pushing kind of movie or you don’t.”

Deadpool director Tim Miller added that “We are in strip clubs and dive bars and crappy apartments and far away from the shiny X-Men world.”

Up to this point, there hasn’t been an R-rated superhero comic book movie based on any of the major characters from Marvel or DC. Deadpool will be entering uncharted waters when it opens in theaters on February 12, 2016.

Deadpool fans, are you still excited to see the new movie? And who’s going to claim that kiss? Pucker up and share your comments below!
