Ryan Adams Taps His Inner Johnny Castle For Cover Of ‘She’s Like The Wind’

As further proof that Ryan Adams might be the best human jukebox we’ve ever heard, the alt-rock crooner recently covered the classic Dirty Dancing ballad “She’s Like The Wind” and totally crushed it.

A fan captured video of the performance from Adams’ recent show at the Cork Opera House in Cork, Ireland, and we can’t help but hope somewhere up in heaven, Patrick Swayze is waving his lighter in the air as a sign of approval.

Bonus points also go to opener Natalie Prass for providing some pretty impressive harmonies.

As we mentioned before, this is hardly the first time Adams has dipped his toe in the covers pool. That said, let’s take a look at some of our favorite musical homages from the mop-haired rocker.

1. “Wonderwall” by Oasis. Adams actually released his version of the Brit-pop hit on the 2004 album Love Is Hell, and the track is positively gorgeous.

2. “I Want To Know What Love Is” by Foreigner. Adams & The Shining performed this little gem on NPR‘s World Cafe and, dare we say, it’s even better than the original.

3. “Run To You” by Bryan Adams. When Ryan first gained mainstream attention with the release of “New York, New York”, it’d be nearly impossible to find an article that didn’t comment on how close the former Whiskeytown frontman’s name resembled that of a certain “Summer Of ’69” singer. Ah, memories.

Ryan Adams will be touring Europe for the next few weeks until he returns to the Best Coast for Coachella, after which he’ll be embarking on a cross-country tour of the states.
