Japanese toys are always inventive and they’ve certainly hit the mark with these zombie-fied fruit. Think about it: nothing is more gruesome than half-dead fruit that’s been sitting on your counter just a little too long. A week old rotten banana can be downright terrifying.

Released by toy maker Takara TOMY, Ichigo, Sakuranbo, Banana, Nashi, Budou, Painappuru are all here to haunt your fructose-loving dreams. At just $2 each, they’re irresistible.

In true Japanese fashion, these horrifying fruits are actually pretty adorable. It’s hard to not want to cuddle the little walking dead fruits to death. As if their kawaii dead-eyed faces weren’t enough to get you to hand over the cash, they’ve made a music video just to pull at your still-beating heartstrings.

The video is an obvious homage to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” right down to the familiar beats, but watching it on a loop is absolutely mesmerizing. Where have you been all my life, moonwalking banana? The first round of toys was was so successful that they released a second series of zombie asian fruits and of course there’s an accompanying video. This time the regular fruits are joined in dance by lychee, lemon, peach, melon, and a fruit that some would say already smells like death: durian.
