Rooster Teeth Chats CRUNCH TIME and DAY 5 at SXSW

Amidst the immense amounts of world class barbecue and Austin city weirdness that you won’t find anywhere else, lies a video game establishment with a large and highly engaging community—Rooster Teeth! You’ve heard of them, right? Aside from launching one of the most successful SVOD platforms known to man and making larger-scale productions for the big screen (go see Lazer Team, it’s dope!), they’ve also been working on a couple of live-action web series that are sure to captivate audiences when they launch later this year: Day 5 and Crunch Time.

We announced these shows exclusively on Nerdist just a couple of weeks ago, and last week we were joined on the Saloon stage at SXSW by Burnie Burns (Rooster Teeth Chief Creative Officer), Chris Demarais (Rooster Teeth Head Live Action Writer & co-creator of Day 5), Josh Flanagan (writer, showrunner for Day 5), Nick Rutherford (Star of Crunch Time), and Andrew Disney (director of Crunch Time). The crew discussed everything from Rooster Teeth’s impact on the Austin gaming scene to all the wonderful creative projects they are currently working on.

Check out the entire panel for yourself at the top of the page. Are you a subscriber to Rooster Teeth? Looking forward to catching their upcoming shows? Just feel like talking a bit? Let us know your thoughts on Austin’s very own gaming empire in the comments below!
