Ronda Rousey Has Multi-Movie Plan to Win CAPTAIN MARVEL Role

Two months ago, MMA fighter and UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey revealed her desire to play Carol Danvers—a.k.a. Captain Marvel—in Marvel Studios’ upcoming solo film. Shortly thereafter, Rousey continued lobbying for the role as fans sent in artwork featuring Rousey as Captain Marvel. And now, she’s apparently picking all of her other roles in hopes to win Marvel’s heart.

Rousey has recently lined up several other cinematic roles—including a biographical film based on her life’s story and a remake of the cult classic film Road House. But Rousey still covets the Captain Marvel role and she’s very open about her plan to get it. Because much like her MMA fights, Rousey intends to decisively win.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight about her upcoming film Mile 22, Rousey said, “I’m really looking forward to doing my first starring role opposite Mark Wahlberg [in Mile 22]. Hopefully by the time Captain Marvel comes around, I will have enough experience and skills in the field for them to really seriously consider me.”

Fortunately for Rousey, she’ll have more time to prepare for Captain Marvel. Last week, Marvel Studios pushed Captain Marvel back to March 8. 2019 in order to place Ant-Man and The Wasp on the Phase 3 schedule. Which you can learn about in the video below!

Rousey is no stranger to fighting for what she wants, either, as she already spent a good deal of time chasing the Nick Cassavetes-directed Road House remake. “I was pursuing Road House for like two years,” explained Rousey in the same interview. “I really don’t think that any other man could be [Patrick Swayze]. I think that it’s a wise angle to take to kind of do a little gender flip of the role.”

Rousey’s next UFC title defense will be against Holly Holm on November 14.

Marvel fans, do you want to see Rousey as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Captain Marvel? We’re calling on all Carol Corps members to share your opinions below!
