Roll Out with Her Universe’s New TRANSFORMERS Line

Her Universe is on fire. The clothing company that makes fandom apparel for women recently expanded their Star Wars line and added Marvel merchandise to their offerings. They’re not stopping there though; Her Universe just rolled out a Transformers collection. They’ve partnered up with Hasbro to create dresses, shirts, and leggings designs that are more than what they appear to be. The items might not turn into sentient robotic beings (as far as we know), but they look like they could at any moment.

Ashley Eckstein, founder of Her Universe, says she grew up watching Transformers and playing with the toys. She wants to make people aware that girls do indeed like it. In a press release about the launch she states, “A lot of people do not realize that girls are into this franchise and we look forward to transforming this perception!”

The initial release is timed to coincide with the premiere of Transformers: Age of Extinction. Fans can choose from a variety of geek chic designs including everyday cosplay dresses featuring Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, leggings covered in an Autobot symbol pattern, a comfy t-shirt, two raglans (one has Dinobots!), and a tank. The t-shirt has a hidden Autobots symbol that glows in the dark. The line doesn’t feature any Decepticon designs – unless they’re hidden – but perhaps those are on the way.

You can purchase pieces from the versatile collection at Her Universe or from Hot Topic; prices start at $25.

Need more geeky fashion? Be sure to attend Nerdist and Her Universe’s Fashion Show at San Diego Comic-Con. The big event happens on the evening of Thursday, July 24, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt.

Alright, Transformers fans. Which of these items will you be adding to your wardrobe? Roll to the comments and let us know.
