Rocksteady is Helping Iron Galaxy Fix BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT PC Version

It has admittedly been a rough week for Batman: Arkham Knight, especially on PC. This whole mess started off with some horrendous Steam user reviews that rightfully bashed that version for being a hot mess. WB was quick to act and completely ceased the sales of the game on PC. Don’t fret though, it will eventually be back up for sale. But you’ll have to wait for the game breaking bugs to be nipped in the bud. The good news is, that may be sooner rather than later. Game director and co-found of Rocksteady, Sefton Hill, has stated that they have their best engineers helping Iron Galaxy resolve the issues. The bad news is that there are other problems in other editions of the game now.

Here is the full tweet from the other day for reference:

In a previous tweet, Hill reiterated that Rocksteady is taking the situation very seriously– as they should. He went on to say that they also support the decision to suspend the sales. If you’ve yet to be acclimated to the issues at hand, some people were reporting absurd frame rate drops that dipped as low as 5 fps, making it basically unplayable. AMD users seemed to have the hardest time, but users of high end Nvidia cards were also having problems. People had to go in and fiddle with the download files in order to avoid the frame rate drops.

As of right now, no timetable is set for when you’ll be able to jump back on with your mouse and keyboard. Patience might be required for this one. I can only assume everyone at Rocksteady and WB is sweating it out, racing to try and rid themselves of these complications.

Despite garnering some really good buzz based on reviews– I gave it extremely high marks in my review— the game has had a rough first week of launch that doesn’t end with the aforementioned Knight-mare. Now, the PS4 version’s leaderboards are not working either. Obviously this isn’t game breaking, but it’s another misstep. What makes this so strange is that the boards were working prior to launch. While I was completing it for my review, they always loaded up correctly and even informed me on which one of my friends were being a better Batman. It wasn’t out in the wild yet so the disruption could be coming from the amount of traffic the game is receiving.

But wait, there’s more. Pictures are floating around the internet of a not so inconspicuous typo on the official strategy guide. If you take a look at the spine of the book, the spelling goes as follows: “Batman: Arkham Knght“. Gamespot took a picture which you can view above. How no one caught that is beyond me. It’s actually kind of hilarious.

Scarecrow might not be the best choice to defeat Dark Knight, a PC is. I still highly recommend playing through the final installment of the Arkham series, just pick it up for the consoles. What do you think of all these snafus? Let us know in the comments section below.
