We reported on the spooky news that Halloween-themed DLC was on the way for Rocket League last week, and while that was cool, the folks behind the game announced something even better today. If you’re a fan of both the game and Back to the Future, you may want to sit down for this. Beginning October 21, you’ll be able to hit the pitch in the DeLorean Time Machine. That means your dreams of playing ultimate car soccer in the famed vehicle are finally coming true. Great Scott!
The DeLorean will be available as a playable Battle-Car for $1.99 USD in the Back to the Future Car Pack. Alongside the announcement, the developer also released a trailer–which you can check out above–showing the car in action. While we don’t get to see much, hearing the theme play as the vehicle blasts off and scores a goal is enough to get us excited.
If the date sounds familiar, that’s because October 21, 2015 is the day Marty McFly traveled to in the sequel to Back to the Future. So, the timing of the DLC’s release is perfect.
As many of you are already aware, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the DeLorean in a video game. The car also makes an appearance alongside the hoverboard, Doc Brown and Marty McFly in both in the campaign and as part of the first wave of DLC in TT Games’ latest title LEGO Dimensions (which we loved). I picked up the Back to the Future Level pack myself, and can honestly say it was worth it–despite the price.
