Rock Out to ‘Ai no Starshine’ from the SAILOR MOON Musical

Sailor Moon will punish you in the name of the moon!”

That iconic line kicks off this new clip from the stage musical Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Petite Étrangère, the second stage musical based on Naoko Takeuchi’s wildly popular manga. The three-and-a-half minute video, which was posted to the official Sailor Moon YouTube channel,  showcases the song “Ai no Starshine” (Starshine of Love), which features the Sailor Scouts busting some moves and belting their hearts out in full Sailor Moon regalia.

The musical ran earlier this year in Tokyo from August 21-31 and in Osaka from September 5-7. Now, it is being released on DVD in Japan on January 28 for 7,800 yen (roughly $70). In addition to the DVD, the package contains a 28-page full-colore booklet, a special features disc with additional scenes, behind-the-scenes content, audio commentary from the five main actresses, and much more.

That’s all well and good, but where is my chorus line of dancing Tuxedo Masks?

I’d like some of yoshihiro togashi’s work to be made into a musical maybe hunter x hunter or yu yu hakusho .

  2. Donna says:

How about a musical version of “Elfin Lied”? That manga/anime would be so beautiful set to music; even if the ending isn’t necessarily a happy one (ambiguous at best), it would still be heartbreakingly beautiful.

  3. Mish says:

You should also check out the Bleach and Black Butler musicals.

  4. plaeski says:

Thank you for spotlighting the Sailor Moon musicals! They’ve been doing these since 1993 and I’m always surprised that even the biggest Sailor Moon fans haven’t heard of/seen them!
