Everybody wishes they were a kid again once in a while so I’m just going to warn you that what I’m about to tell you will make you wish that wish again. We learned from Buzzfeed that classic British clothing shop Boden has introduced a new children’s line inspired by classic author Roald Dahl‘s stories. I have never actually wanted to be specifically ten again but after seeing some of the options available here, I’m seriously wishing for some sort of magic TV that could just shrink me down just so I could fit into some of these.
From Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, kids can grab a faux fur jacket inspired by everyone’s favorite spoiled rotten princess, Veruca Salt. And the truly diabolically delightful among your brood might like the adorable Willy Wonka purple velvet jacket with inner lining details that frankly make me wish that this came in adult sizes.
The collection is the result of a collaboration between Boden and the estate of Roald Dahl in honor of their respective anniversaries. This year is the 25th anniversary for the clothing line while it has been 100 years since Dahl’s birth. The clothing line with Boden is drawing inspiration from Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, The Twits, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and The BFG. Dahl’s grandson and Managing Director of The Roald Dahl Literary Estate, Luke Kelly, said in a press release, “Iâm so delighted at the attention to detail, quality and wit demonstrated by Boden in shaping this collection. I hope it delights children and their parents across the US, in the same measure as my grandfatherâs stories.”
Take a few minutes and peruse some selections from the collection below, and then you’re going to want to immediately hustle over to Boden’s website to snap up a few things for your kids or any lucky nieces and nephews. I won’t lie: I’ve definitely already purchased a few things for the upcoming holidays. I just wish I could rock the Matilda look below with even half the style I know my nieces will.
Roald Dahl scared kids…and movies were made of them!
