RIVERDALE #3 Preview Shows Off Some Jughead-Betty Detective Work (Exclusive)

We’ve been frantically reading Archie Comics new Riverdale series while we wait for our favorite new TV show to return for a second season. The first two issues have been utter perfection and we’re beyond excited for issue three to hit stands this coming Wednesday.

Scripted by the writing staff of the CW smash hit, the Riverdale comic brings all sorts of backstories and side tales to the universe of the show. Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa oversees the whole thing, which really helps the two projects gel into one cohesive universe. In a lot of ways, this comic book is a companion to the show and an absolute must-read for any Riverdale fan. It hits all the right notes while still having a look and feel all its own, thanks to fantastic work from artists like Joe Eisma, Thomas Pitilli, Andre Szymanowicz, Janice Chiang, and John Workman. (Plus, you get covers from superstar Francesco Francavilla, who is worth the cover price alone.)

Riverdale #3 features two new stories, both of which we are previewing for you below. First, Josie and the Pussycats introduce Riverdale High, and the rest of the town, to their newly-appointed band member. After that, Riverdale #3 embraces the series’ noir influences as it follows Betty and Jughead (a.k.a. #Bughead) try to uncover a dark truth about Clifford Blossom.

So, if you are a Riverdale fan, an Archie Comics fan, or just a fan of awesome comic books, you need to pick up Riverdale #3. Take a look at our exclusive preview below and then head to the comic shop on Wednesday and pick up your copy. You can ask them to order you the first two issues, as well. Trust us, you want to read the whole thing.
