Ripley From ALIEN Gets a Sigourney Sculpt in 12 Inches for the First Time

2016 is the year of the Alien. First, fans rallied to celebrate the Alien franchise on 4/26/2016, (you remember LV-426, right?), by watching Alien and Aliens back to back at participating theaters. Then Reebok released the Alien Stomper, which is the sneaker Ripley wore when she first encountered the Queen Xenomorph and rescued Newt in Aliens. Now Hot Toys is rounding off the celebration of Alien in a major way, and the company has officially introduced the 1/6 scale  of Ellen Ripley from the first Alien film.

In 2014, the company produced a version of Ripley from the Aliens film equipped with a power loader. This is a recreation of the iconic scene where Ripley actually fights the Queen Xenomorph. However, this particular action figure lacks authenticity. If you look closely, you will notice its facial structure falls short in capturing the accentuated features of actress Sigourney Weaver.

This is why Hot Toys has gone above and beyond to bring fans a specially crafted, highly accurate figure with a keen resemblance to Sigourney Weaver in character. It’s worth mentioning that this is the first 12-inch toy of herself that Weaver has approved (following NECA’s 7-inch series), and for good reason, as no small detail is missed in the creation of this life-like action figure. What’s cool is that Ripley comes with screen-accurate accessories, including the tailored Nostromo uniform, a tracking device, wrist watch, flamethrower, a diorama stand, and even Jonesy the cat in his space kitty-carrier! Die-hard Alien fans and toy collectors can now have an anti-alien Ellen of their own sometime in late 2016/early 2017.
