Review Roundup: METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN Brings the Pain

Prepare yourself for the end of summer, because the flood gates are about to open and a bevy of AAA behemoths are going to be unleashed. Not to knock the first half of the year, but these upcoming months are going to be killer—start apologizing to your wallet now. It all starts with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, of course. Very few things in this world excite me more than espionage, hiding under cardboard boxes, and hours-upon-hours of convoluted cut-scenes—you know, staples of the series. Seriously though, The Phantom Pain is a little over a week from launching, and the hype is reaching a deafening pitch.

Sneak a peak at various review scores from around the internet:

Game Informer: 9.25/10

IGN: 10/10

Game Spot: 10/10

EGM: 9.5/10

Destructoid: 9/10

Game Trailers: 9.3/10

Boom goes the dynamite! Unsurprisingly, Hideo Kojima seems to have knocked it out of the park in what is most likely his Metal Gear Solid swan song. It should really come as no surprise as the team behind this title has always provided top-notch experiences  that have been loved by gamers everywhere. Whether the series continues or not, it’s safe to say that it will never be the same without this legendary Kojima at the helm.

For the moment, it appears as though this title will be in discussion for many game of the year awards.

If you want to take your MGSV fandom to the next level, don’t forget to peep the sweet Outer Haven branded Sony Walkman and the limited edition red PS4. Heck, you can even get your hands on a controversial partially squishy, Quiet figure. Will you be sneaking the game disc into your preferred platform come next week? What are your expectations now that critics from around the internet have given their 2 cents? Let us know in the comments below.
