The world seems to love Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. The Golden Globes loves them as hosts of their ceremony as they are set to host three years in a row, but, interestingly enough, outside of that gig, Poehler and Fey have not worked together as frequently as one might think outside of their time at Saturday Night Live. That’s why it’s a really momentous occasion that, according to a report at Showbiz 411, they’ll be starring together in an upcoming film, The Nest, in which they throw one big goodbye party for the ages before getting kicked out of their family home.
The recent rarity of Poehler and Fey projects might have something to do with the fact that Poehler currently stars in Parks and Recreation which just got picked up for a seventh season, executive produces Broad City, renewed for a second season, co-produces Welcome to Sweden, which also just got a second season, just won a Shorty Award for her Smart Girls at The Party, guest starring in everything from Comedy Bang! Bang! to Kroll Show, and more, while Fey has her own overall deal at Universal Television, and is overseeing a number of projects in development at NBC, Fox, etc. in addition to having a family.
That being said, we can’t wait to see what they come up with in The Nest, which we hope we’ll see in 2015 (shooting starts in June this year), if not sooner.
