New RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 Trailer Emphasizes the Outlaw Gang

Rockstar Games announced a third official trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption game released in 2010. RDR 2 was set to release back in the fall of 2017 when it was first revealed at E3’s 2016 conference, but after multiple delays, RDR 2 has a final (fingers crossed) release date of October 26, 2018. This new trailer will hopefully give us more answers on what we can expect for this prequel.

According to Rockstar Games, the plot of RDR 2 is set in 1899:

“America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed. After a robbery goes badly wrong in the town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.”

We are not sure how Arthur Morgan’s journey will play out in this game. He’s introduced as a debt-collecter of sorts for the Van der Linde gang who has no problem killing innocents if it gets the job done. In other words, Morgan is an antihero with questionable motives and his loyalties to his gang will surely be challenged. Based on previous games published through Rockstar Games, there’s a good chance Morgan won’t be the only playable character in the prequel, and other nameless gang members who were introduced may have a bigger impact in the game than we know.

Red Dead Redemption won Game of the Year in 2010 for its incredible visuals, voice acting, and plot and has been heralded as one of the greatest video games of all time. With its sequel, Rockstar Games could secure that title once more for 2018’s Game of the Year but it will be up against some serious competition, including the much anticipated Spider-Man video game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release worldwide on October 26, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. What are you looking forward to the most about this prequel? Shoot us your comments below!
