RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 Gameplay Video Shows Rough and Raw Outlaw Life

Rockstar Games introduced players to the outlaws known as the Van der Linde gang eight years ago in Red Dead Redemption. And now the sequel is almost here. Red Dead Redemption 2, out this fall, will serve as a prequel to the previous game. This time, players will take control of Arthur Morgan as he and the rest of the gang make their way through the American West. Rockstar has dropped an extended gameplay video for the sequel which offers a tantalizing glimpse of the open world splendor that awaits.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the new footage is the outlaw camp that will serve as Morgan’s home during the game. The video implies the Van der Linde gang will be driven from various territories over the course of the story, but the footage makes the camp look like a thriving community. Players will get to control how honorable Morgan is, while building up his relationship with the camp by providing for them in their time of need.

The video also notes the importance of Morgan’s bond with his horse. If the animal isn’t treated with respect and care, it may not follow Morgan’s lead during tense battles. There’s even a little Grand Theft Auto flavor when the video suggests certain horses are better suited for specific missions. But the biggest takeaway from these clips is the sheer beauty of the game’s scenery and setting.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will hit the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26.
